“Learn a skill and become very good at it, and people will seek you out.” This statement is often shared by people across various fields, but it’s partly false. Let me give you an example from my own experience: I learned how to code, honed my programming skills, solved LeetCode problems, and even launched a SaaS, expecting that everything would fall into place.

Little did I know that just having one skill wouldn’t be enough. You need more than one skill to succeed in life, whether it’s marketing, communication, basic finance, sales, or even programming. Having a variety of skills in your skill set is highly underrated.

In the world of entrepreneurship, diversifying your skills can take you very far. Most of us have to be the brains behind the scenes – writing code, doing extensive marketing, talking to clients, validating ideas, spending hours on market research, and much more.

In my case, I’ve found myself stepping out of my comfort zone to learn new skills like marketing, copywriting, and even sales. Lol! For your own sake, try to diversify your skill set the same way wealthy individuals diversify their portfolios, and you won’t be taken down by a single setback.

Good luck on your entrepreneurial journey.
